Designing has always been an interest of mine, ever since I was young. I have always had the habit of designing, sketching and even modelling structures out of clay. I believe this habit of mine has grown into a fascination and a desire to make an impact on peoples lives. I believe Art & Design allows me to combine the strongest characteristics of my personality; enthusiasm for art and working with other people.

I have gathered a lot of experience throughout the years of education and I have expanded my knowledge in Art by studying different types in High School and College. I have got an experience in Product Design from when I was in School – this helped me understand what would be expected from me when I enter College. I was extremely fortunate to find a college with courses I knew I would love and enjoy. I studied Architecture for 2 years and It gave me a nearby experience of what Architects have to do. It thought me how to illustrate and study buildings by looking at their features, style, structure, and most importantly their architects. What I enjoyed about the course was the opportunity given to me to design my own buildings and present them to class. Challenging but worth it, I enjoyed everything I learnt from this course.

I also studied History of Art which also gave me a different perspective of Art. I learnt that Art pieces have such deep meaning when we analyse them correctly and how they are portrayed to us. Another subject that I enjoyed a lot was Photography. Capturing images through a camera and portraying meanings to my class was really enjoyable. I experimented with different types and settings of cameras.

My past experiences has taken me to where I am now – a 1st year student at the University of Bedfordshire studying BA (hons) Art & Design. I have gathered a lot of knowledge and experiences from my previous courses and they have helped me with what I am studying now.
